Henry and I are lucky enough to have Brian (my coworker, Henry's friend from home) in our lives. After working with Brian for over 4 years, he FINALLY asked me if I would be interested in going out with his friend Henry. "Sure!", I said, figuring I had nothing to lose. Brian introduced us via email ("Henry meet Kristen, Kristen meet Henry...my work here is now done"), and after emailing back and forth for a few days, Henry and I finally decided to meet in person. We met for our first date at Olive Garden in Framingham on Thursday, September 25, 2008. After a very long dinner consisting of a LOT of talking and very little eating (which didn't make the waitress very happy), we seemed to be really hitting it off and decided to prolong the date by grabbing drinks next door at TGI Fridays. After lots more talking and laughing, we managed to make it to "last call" without any awkward silences or growing bored of each other (quite the feat!). One awkward goodnight hug / cheek-kiss later, we both went our separate ways, but not without first deciding to see each other again that Saturday for the BSSC Pub Crawl. After that Saturday (which was quite the long and eventful second date!), the rest is history... with a whole slew of Wednesday night "date nights" under our belts, we saw each other at least once a week and every single weekend for the first few months of dating. We soon realized that we couldn't stand to be apart from each other for more than a few days at a time, and we each knew that we had finally found "the one". Almost 10 months of dating later, on July 18, 2009 Henry took me into Boston for what I thought was just going to be a casual afternoon in the city. After walking around by the water for a little bit, Henry sat me down on "The Greenway" in front of my favorite clocktower and we started talking. After weeks of joking with each other about how we should just run off to Vegas and get married, Henry told me that he had finally gotten the "ticket" to Vegas. I didn't believe him and told him "prove it!". As he went to reach for his pocket I thought "oh crap, he really DID get the tickets...my mom is going to kill me!" Needless to say, I was SHOCKED when he pulled out a ring from his pocket and said with a big smile on his face "here's the ticket...will you marry me?" After lots of screeching "oh my god!" and "what?!" in utter disbelief, I grabbed the ring from Henry's hand and just stared at it in amazement. I finally pulled myself together (with my hands still shaking uncontrollably), realized that I was holding the ring instead of wearing it, and handed it back to Henry saying "well put it on me!" :) Needless to say, I finally remembered to say "yes!", and we spent the rest of the day on Cloud 9 telling all our family and friends the wonderful news. With the proposal under our belts, it was now time to plan our "big day"...the day when we will finally get to say "I do" to each other and become husband and wife. On September 25, 2009 we celebrated our 1-year anniversary together, and on May 23, 2010 we are finally going to be married and will be able to look forward to LOTS more years together!
